Multi-Country Europe Highlights

The Colosseum in Rome

Rome, Italy

Packed with personality, a bit chaotic, loads of fun… That’s how Rome rolls. History is more than an echo here. It steals the whole show. From the Colosseum to crazy nights, nobody does it quite like Rome. For the food alone? Hop on that flight and don’t look back.

View of the Old Town in Dubrovnik, Croatia

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Step into the stone gates and feel Dubrovnik come alive. Get lost between fortress walls that curve along the turquoise coast. Better yet, kayak beneath them and chase the sea breeze. From morning coffees in the plaza to staying up late with future best mates, your Dubrovnik story is waiting to be told…

Group of skiers smiling at the top of the mountain in Austria

Austrian Alps

Torn from the pages of a fairytale… Maybe the hills are alive, after all. When summer rolls around, it’s group picnics, sunset hikes and beer gardens. As for winter? Ski, snowboard, après, repeat. Whatever the season, whatever the mood. The Austrian Alps just have that kind of effect.

The northern lights over Norway

The Northern Lights

Look up. Streaks of emerald and violet dance across the sky, illuminating the darkest of polar nights. Chasing auroras makes you feel like a kid again, too excited to fall asleep. Because if you’re lucky enough to catch the Northern Lights, it’s impossible to look away. Like magic.

Iconic viewpoint in Santorini

Greek Island-Hopping

An island for every vibe. Beaches to match your idea of paradise. You’ve been dreaming about those bright sapphire waters… So dive right in. Escape to Santorini sunsets, clubbing in Mykonos, and unexpected gems in Paros. Set sail for your greatest summer yet.

Blue Lagoon in Iceland

Blue Lagoon, Iceland

Warm up instead of cooling down. Sink into milky blue waters, steam rising in the air against a backdrop of volcanoes. Those geothermal pools are the best kind of reward after glacier trekking and chasing waterfalls. Summer or winter, it doesn’t matter. Step into your new happy place.

View of Charles Bridge in Prague

Prague, Czechia

From sunset-coloured rooftops to Gothic peaks. Some call it ‘The Golden City,’ you’ll know it as your next adventure. Where beer is famously cheaper than water, and river bridges lead up to hilltop castles. Café-hopping or pub crawls, Prague has memories in the making.

View of Barcelona from Park Guell

Barcelona, Spain

Nothing beats Barcelona. Golden beaches, electric streets and clubbing capital vibes. All in a single day. Barcelona never ties you down. It’s the everything city where tapas and sangrias lead to live music, the wildest of nights… And enchanting sunrises to finish it all off.

The Albania Riviera in Himara, Albania

Albanian Riviera

Paradise was hiding here all along. Beachside villages, secret bays, and nightlife that'll surprise you. Dip in impossibly clear waters and hike to fairy-like pools. Once you've had a taste of the sweet life, there's no going back. Your one regret? Wishing you'd come sooner.

Eiffel Tower in Paris

Paris, France

Some views speak for themselves. The Eiffel Tower glistening under the night sky is just the start of what gives Paris its romantic soul. The Mona Lisa, Seine River sunsets… Hearing about it is one thing. Finally experiencing it for yourself? Welcome to Paris.

Multi-Country Europe Travel Advice

Climate & Weather

Europe mostly has a temperate climate, with milder winters and cooler summers. Southern Europe is known for its dry, hot Mediterranean climate.

Most European countries experience four seasons. Meanwhile, Nordic countries such as Iceland and Norway are famous for their unique natural phenomena: polar winters (where you can often see the Northern Lights!), and the Midnight Sun (where there’s 24-hour daylight).

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit on our Europe tours is up to you! Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are fantastic times of year for sightseeing and budget travel. Euro Summer (June to August) is iconic for a reason, perfect for beach days, late nights partying, mountain hiking… Your perfect adventure is waiting.

As for winter? December to February can be just as magical. Christmas markets are especially famous, and so is the Northern Lights!

Brandenburg Gate in Berlin

Customs & Culture

Europe is culturally diverse and home to many different languages and traditions. Arts, food and history are especially famous for this continent. British travellers can expect similar cultural customs to those in the UK, with some exceptions depending on where you go.

Showing respect for the local environment and practising a few language phrases is encouraged. Your group leader on our Europe tours can advise on specific cultural customs.

Red and blue british passports

Passports & Visas

Entry requirements and visa regulations are different for every destination and your purpose of travel. We recommend staying updated on the latest official information before you go travelling. Your passport should be undamaged and have enough blank pages for stamps and visas. Many countries require your passport to have at least 6 months of validity beyond the date of entry.

For more information and resources regarding entry requirements, check out our Visa Advice page.

Health & Safety

At Gap 360, your safety and well-being are our top priorities. From the moment your trip is confirmed until you arrive back home, you'll have access to a 24/7 emergency contact number for any urgent issues. For anything non-urgent, our friendly team is also available during office hours to help.

We strongly recommend checking FCDO advice for specific countries, as it's regularly updated with the latest safety and travel information, and you can even sign up for email alerts to stay informed of any changes. In addition, you can check the FCDO general travel advice for British nationals abroad.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tough call! If we had to narrow it down… Paris, Prague, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Berlin are some of Europe’s most iconic city breaks. Italy is especially famous for all the cities you can explore, from Rome to Venice, Florence and Milan.

Depends on your vibe! Berlin, Ibiza and Milan are world-famous for their clubbing scenes. Croatia, Greece and Albania are perfect for beach parties. More into pub crawls and bar-hopping? Prague, Barcelona and Paris are where you need to be.

So many to choose from… Generally, we’d say Switzerland, Austria, Scandinavia, Italy and Albania are the best destinations for those who love hiking. Chat with a travel advisor for more details.
