Greece Highlights

Sunset sky over view of Oia in Santorini, Greece

Santorini

And just like that, Santorini sweeps you off your feet. Let enchanting sunset views work their magic, painting a picture in perfect harmony with Santorini’s iconic sapphire domes and pale terraces, clinging to the cliffside. Greece’s most famous island is even more appetising than how you’re imagining it to be.

Mykonos

Nobody throws a party like Mykonos. Beach clubs, pool parties and world-class DJs keep the island dancing until sunrise. Stretch out on golden sands by day, swimming in crystal-clear seas or sipping cocktails by the shore. When the sun goes down, Mykonos is just getting started. Every night here is a story in the making.

View of Athens Greece

Athens

Golden citadels crown the rugged hills of Athens, framing a capital that hums with electric energy from day to night. Founded in 508 BCE, this is one of the most ancient cities in the world. But its glory days never left. Whether you’re drawn most to the Acropolis or lesser-known gems, Athens strikes a chord in every traveller.

View of Corfu beach in Greece Europe

Corfu

Paradise calls in Corfu. Closer to Albania than to Athens, this iconic Greek island has its own signature style. Forested hills, emerald hiking trails that curve along the cliff edges, and stunning beaches bleached by the sun make it the ultimate escape. This is the kind of place where day and night bring a different adventure.

Travellers on inflatable rings in water by sandy beach in Ios

Ios

Don’t let first impressions fool you. By day, Ios leans into the sleepy island life, where lazy mornings by the beach, prosecco picnics and a bit of watersports are all that’s on the agenda. But this is a small island with big energy. So when the evening arrives, Ios goes wild with epic nights out. Are you ready for it?

Meteora monasteries in Greece Europe

Meteora

Spice up your Greece adventures by visiting Meteora. This unique setting will leave any traveller feeling wonderstruck, as giant rocks tower over tumbling hillscapes. Sitting atop are ancient monasteries, suspended between Earth and sky. A place of pilgrimage for centuries, Meteora’s history is just as remarkable as its scenery.

Greece Travel Advice

Climate & Weather

Greece enjoys a Mediterranean climate and is one of the sunniest countries in Europe. Its summers are hot and dry, whilst the winters are milder and wet. January is the coldest month of the year, with temperatures averaging between 7ā„ƒ and 15ā„ƒ. Meanwhile, July and August are the hottest months, as temperatures frequently average 30ā„ƒ or above.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit on our Greece trips comes down to preference. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are generally the best times of year to visit Athens, as the balmy conditions make it ideal for sightseeing.

Meanwhile, the summer months (June to August) are fantastic for exploring the Greek islands, as you can soak up the sunshine and enjoy the ocean breeze. If you’re looking to travel on a budget, winter (December to February) is a favourable time to visit.

Customs & Culture

Greece takes pride in its culture and its ancient history. The country is home to iconic archaeological sites, such as the Acropolis and Parthenon, dating back to Ancient Greece, which is considered the birthplace of Western Civilisation.

Learning a few Greek phrases can go a long way, although some English is spoken in Greece’s most popular destinations. This is a very warm and welcoming country, and your group leader can provide guidance on cultural customs during our Greece trips.

Red and blue british passports
