Looking for a multi-day trek that takes you deep into the jungle? Colombia’s “La Ciudad Perdida” (“The Lost City”) is ready to be explored. Colombia is famous for its epic biodiversity, both in terms of wildlife and in its climates. From the tropical Amazon Rainforest to high mountains, deserts and beaches, Colombia has it all. The country experiences two dry seasons (December to February; July to August) and two rainy seasons (April to June; October to November).
Temperatures in Colombia can vary depending on where you are in the country. By the coast, you can expect highs of 30+℃, especially during the dry season. Meanwhile, at higher altitudes, temperatures typically peak at 18℃. Medellín is a famous example of this, nicknamed the “City of Eternal Spring” after its pleasant weather.
The best time to visit on our Colombia tours comes down to preference. December to February is Colombia’s dry season and the most popular time for travel. You can typically expect warm, sunny weather suitable for any occasion, whether it’s chilled beach days, active hikes or cultural sightseeing.
Colombia has two wet seasons, which fall from April to June and October to November. If you’re looking to travel on a budget, this could be perfect for you. Travel costs are typically lower, plus the lush scenery means that the wildlife is thriving. July to August marks a mini dry season and is another fantastic time to visit Colombia.
The culture of Colombia is just as diverse as the country itself. Colombia has been shaped by global influences, including indigenous, African, Spanish and mestizo heritage.
