Climate & Weather

Montenegro enjoys a mostly temperate climate, characterised by its hot summers and mild winters. Up in the northern mountains, the climate can be colder and even see snow during the winter months.

The hottest months in Montenegro are typically July and August. Temperatures can reach 30℃ or higher by the coast. Meanwhile, mountainous areas average around 23℃ during these months.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit on our Montenegro tours comes down to preference. Summer (June to August) is Montenegro’s most popular season. It’s the perfect time of year for relaxing on beaches and experiencing Budva’s famous nightlife.

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are perfect for budget travel, sightseeing and outdoor activities like hiking.

Montenegro is a relaxed and welcoming country. Arts, poetry and music are a big part of the local culture here. A famous phrase in Montenegro is “Polako”, meaning to take things easy, go slow and live in the moment.
